FAQS

What are the benefits of using a trained Certified Mohel at home compared to a doctor in a hospital?

-A Mohel is more experienced in performing circumcisions.
-A Mohel performs the actual circumcision typically in 5 -15 seconds, (as compared to 15 -45 minutes, which is standard with most doctors).
-The specially designed bandaging method used by a Mohel drastically shortens the amount of time the bandages have to remain on.
-The baby can be held by a loving relative instead of being strapped down.
The environment is more warm, spiritual, and meaningful.

Is there any aftercare?

-You lucked out! In most cases, there is zero to minimal aftercare and Rabbi Clyde includes a follow-up in his service to let you rest easy.

What day does a Jewish Bris occur?

-On the eighth day of life, including the day the baby is born.
-In cases where the baby is not in perfect health, the Mohel may delay the Bris until he has consulted the doctor and both the doctor and Mohel agree to the healthy status of the baby.
-A Jewish Bris may only be done during the daytime.

Can I get a circumcision for my son if I’m not Jewish?

I choose not to give my son Vitamin K either orally or by injection, will Rabbi Clyde do his circumcision?

Yes. After extensive research both hands-on and with a cohort of other Mohelim, Rabbi Clyde leaves the decision to the parents to decide what to give their son. From a medical perspective, he is confident that by the 8th day or later there will be no concern, considering his specialized method of controlling and stopping any bleeding within a few moments.
